Dr Anthony Beck BVetMed, MRCVS: Chief Veterinary Officer and Co-Founder
As a member of The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), Dr. Beck has studied and practiced veterinary medicine for the past 23 years.
Dr Beck graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 1998, before undertaking further study into feline medicine, ophthalmology, ultrasonography and orthopedic surgery. After practicing veterinary medicine in London and Hong Kong, Dr. Beck was invited to Beijing Guanshang Animal Hospital in 2006 where he met founding partner, Dr. Torren Stone. Having served at a neuter clinic in Thailand; a bear station in Chengdu, China; a malaria screening post in Guyana, Africa; and a rhino game conservation project in Namibia, Africa, Dr. Beck has extensive experience within the field of veterinary medicine and leads the charge in our stem cell research partnership.
As Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr. Beck leads our clinical services across the group and is accountable for clinical governance, policy, and performance management of our hospitals.
Dr Torren Stone: COO (China Mainland) and Co-Founder
As Chief Operating Officer (China Mainland), Dr. Stone leads our China team across clinical, workforce, government relations, and operations.
Graduating from China Agriculture University (CAU) with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine on a first class scholarship, Dr. Stone has practiced veterinary medicine for the past 15 years. Dr. Stone brings extensive experience in clinical medicine and surgery from a variety of companion animal hospitals in Beijing; has project managed the implementation of the ISO9000 certification at government animal hospitals and provided staff training; as well as serving as contributor to the professional veterinary regulations and examinations for the Ministry of Agriculture in China.
Dr. Stone also serves as a director for the China Small Animal Protection Association (CSAPA) and is the WSAVA/FSAVA representative and deputy secretary general of the Beijing Small Animal Veterinarian Association (BJSAVA); council member of the Companion Animal Branch of China Veterinary Medicine Association (CVMA); and is chief editor of the Veterinary Technician training course and Veterinary Standard Approach. In 2014, Dr. Stone received the BJSAVA-Mars “Distinguished Youth Veterinary Award”, before being recognized with the “Outstanding Contribution Award” in 2015.
